Big J gives back to the industry and has been honored by the Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) for the company's leadership in safety. Big J is an active menber in Associated General Contractors and Associated Builders & Contractors.
Big J has been recognized in the community as a company that gives back. CEO Dick Teater serves as Chairman of the 2008 United Way of Central New Mexico Campaign. Big J was the first construction company in Central New Mexico to exceed $100,000. in annual donations to United Way.

Big J facilities and support infrastructure are built with one purpose in mind: Get your job done seamlessly. That means with seamless coordination with you, the client; seamless safety, quality and integrity of the work product; and seamless internal coordination. Achieving this isn't accidental. Big J has been building and refining its facilities, systems, technology, training and people for more than thirty years. Our forty-five thousand square foot headquarters building situated on six acres in Albuquerque, New Mexico, gives us the room to have all the key team members as well as our fabrication facility under one roof. Fabrication
Big J has focused on building subassemblies offsite in our Fabrication Division shops and then shipping them to the workface for installation. This program offers many benefits to our clients.
- Cleaner jobsite: much of the cutting, welding, and grinding is done offsite
- Better QA/QC: the assemblies are built under controlled conditions
- Lower cost: centralized inventory control, simpler material handling, jigs and fixtures speed production times
- Effective use of limited resources
- Controlled environment for training
Our fabrication facility supports our workers on the jobsite and our customers who need fast turnaround items critical to keep their production flowing
